Normally, once a Hollywood film is considered old news, they send it “off to pasture” on the Internet. What if your film did the opposite and gained so much attention that it was given the recognition it deserved? That is what RebFest is striving to do with it’s new three-tier system.
There are a lot of great filmmakers and films out there who are not being accepted to film festivals or are unable to get any audience attention. They need a platform to show their talent and help get their stories heard. We believe that RebFest and RebFest’s Online/Offline Film Festival can do this.
Traditional film festivals see online venues as competition, and many will reject your film if anything other than your teaser trailer is circulating on the Internet. RebFest’s Online/Offline Film Festival is the opposite. As you get word out about your film being on RebFest, you also help build our fan base. -How could we be upset about that?
SO, WHEN IS THE FILM FESTIVAL?
RebFest is designed to build a fan base and to create buzz around a filmmaker’s film using our free TIER I and TIER II showcases. Utilizing TIER III (with either Pay Per View or limited commercial interruptions) can generate some revenue for the filmmakers, which can then be used for more advertising, finishing funds, etc. Then, after several filmmakers have gained a sizeable fan base from the site, RebFest will host an online film festival that exclusively showcases the films that gained the most attention.
There will be NO SUBMISSION FEES and NO chance of REJECTION.
It’s simple! You gain the fan base, we showcase the film in our online film festival and, additionally, it will be simultaneously run in either one or more movie theaters throughout the U.S. The more recognition the films generate on RebFest, the more opportunity we will have to show them to a larger audience, both online and offline. It’s not the ordinary “my film vs. your film;” it’s all of us working together to make sure independent films get a chance to reach their audience.
The power of RebFest is the concept of synergy… The energy you exert to promote, combined with the energy of others who are promoting, will multiply the impact and will reach a larger audience than we could reach alone. In short, you promote your film on RebFest, he promotes his film on RebFest, and together you’ll drive more people to the website to watch EACH OTHER’S films.
